Mercy College Coolock | School Painting Contractors

During the summer months we were assigned the task of repainting the passageways and stairwells in the Mercy College Coolock

It had been sometime since the school had been painted so they required a specialist commercial painting contractor to execute the works to a high level

Over the years we have painted dozens and dozens of schools of the management team in the school made the right choice in choosing Lally!

As part of the contract we were given responsibility for specifying hard wearing products that are easy to wipe and ensure the high volumes of traffic that pass through the passage ways and stairwells each each

All of the products we put forward were from the Crown Trade range. Crow have been one of supply partners for many years so we know the capabilities of their products.

On the walls we chose an acrylic eggshell. We choose this product because is hard wearing, it can be wiped and it’s durable. We also like it’s a water based product and aligns with our environmental policy which aligns us as eco painting contractors as we aim to reduce out usage of oil based products

That said we chose an oil based undercoat and gloss for the skirting boards, doorsets and steel balustrades because it’s hard wearing and durable. The water based equivalent would have required 3 or more coats.

Crown Trade oil based undercoat and gloss paints ensures that one coat of undercoat and one coat of gloss is enough on previously painted surfaces. This delivered a cost saving to the school, which they were pleased with as the project came in below budget!
